SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) mencatat transaksi e-commerce di Indonesia menembus 42,2 triliun rupiah per Oktober 2023. Dalam konferensi pers, Kamis (23/11), Deputi Gubernur BI Filianingsih Hendarta mengungkapkan, angka ini tumbuh sebesar 10,69 persen secara month to month (mtm) atau 4,99 persen year on year (yoy).
Menurutnya, terdapat beberapa faktor yang membuat transaksi di e-commerce meningkat, diantaranya budaya belanja di toko online yang semakin luas, serta adanya promo khususnya saat tanggal kembar. Adapun, produk yang mengalami transaksi terbesar di e-commerce adalah fesyen, perawatan diri, kosmetik, kebutuhan rumah tangga dan kantor.
Dalam kesempatan yang sama, Gubernur BI Perry Warjiyo mengatakan, adanya transaksi e-commerce meningkatkan percepatan perputaran uang sehingga efisiensi dan produktivitas masyarakat semakin meningkat. Selain itu, transaksi e-commerce disebut mendukung pengendalian inflasi karena harga barang-barang di toko online yang cenderung lebih murah.
