SEAToday.com, Riyadh - A collaboration between Saudi Arabia Railways and Italian Arsenale Group will bring in luxurious experiences for the train passengers of “Dream of the Desert”, the first luxury train in the Middle Eastern kingdom set to begin operation in 2025.
The SAR 200 million deal (USD 53 million) will offer a 1,300-km luxury train cruise across the desert, from the capital city of Riyadh ending in Qurayyat which is located near the northern border with Jordan. The route will take up to two days to complete, passing through Al Qassim, Hail and Al Jouf, on the edge of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Nature Reserve.
The train features 40 sophisticated cabins customized in Saudi style and tradition, with a capacity of 82 people. The booking process is scheduled to begin at the end of 2024, and the train is set to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2025.
