Minister Ariotedjo: Money Turnover During FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 Reaches IDR300 Billion

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, revealed in a press statement on Monday (12/4) that the organization of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023 generated a money turnover of 305 billion rupiah with a multiplier of 1.6, based on temporary secondary data in the form of a budget plan (RAB) and the calculation of average audience spending.

According to the economic analysis, the additional production value of goods and services in Indonesia resulting from the organization of this event is 250 billion rupiah, and in terms of GDP, it also increased by 229.2 billion rupiah. Minister Dito concluded that this event had an impact on economic growth of 0.02 percent.

Minister Dito also explained that the Youth and Sports Ministry, together with other parties, had conducted a survey related to the impact of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023, and the calculation used a quantitative survey method on spectators, businesspeople, and volunteers.
