Telkom Empowers 636 MSMEs with Modern Packaging Support Through PackFest 2025

SEAToday.com, Jakarta— PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) continues its commitment to advancing Indonesia’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the launch of PackFest 2025, a strategic packaging innovation program aimed at enhancing product quality, marketability, and sustainability. This initiative is part of Telkom’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to foster economic growth and strengthen local entrepreneurs across the nation.
Supporting MSMEs with Packaging Innovation and Subsidies
Since its inception in March 2025, PackFest has successfully engaged 636 MSMEs across 90 regions and Rumah BUMN centers nationwide. The program offers significant subsidies of up to 50% to assist MSMEs in upgrading their product packaging with modern materials such as metallized paper and aluminum foil in various sizes. These upgrades include both zipper and non-zipper formats, enabling MSMEs to improve the appearance, durability, and functionality of their packaging.
Nurhayati, owner of Asakawa, one of the MSMEs supported by Rumah BUMN Koba, shared her experience:
"I used to think high-quality packaging was expensive and complicated. But through PackFest, I learned how to choose the right materials, create professional designs, and include proper nutrition labels. Now my products look more professional and are easier to market."
Enhancing Product Competitiveness and Promoting Sustainable Growth
The PackFest program not only addresses common challenges faced by MSMEs—such as limited knowledge of design and budget constraints—but also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager of Telkom’s Social Responsibility Unit, emphasized the program’s broader impact:
"PackFest is more than just about packaging. It’s part of Telkom’s effort to strengthen Indonesia’s MSMEs, enabling them to reach wider markets with more competitive, high-value products."
Aligning with ESG Principles Through CSR Initiatives
Telkom integrates environmental, social, governance (ESG) principles into all its initiatives under the Tanggung Jawab Sosial dan Lingkungan (TJSL) program. By empowering MSMEs to improve their packaging standards, Telkom ensures local products are better equipped to compete in both national retail and digital marketplaces, fostering sustainable economic development.
Impact and Future Outlook
Indonesia is home to over 66 million MSMEs, contributing approximately US$130 billion (around IDR 2,194 trillion) to the country’s economy. Through the PackFest 2025 initiative, Telkom provides tangible support to help these micro, small, and medium enterprises elevate their product presentation and market reach.
As the program continues to expand, Telkom remains committed to creating a more inclusive economy where local entrepreneurs can thrive in a competitive landscape, supported by innovative packaging and sustainable business practices.
