President Joko Widodo Launches Eco-Friendly Public Transport in Nusantara
SEAToday.com, East Kalimantan - President Joko Widodo inaugurated environmentally friendly public transportation in Indonesia’s New Capital City (IKN) Nusantara area, East Kalimantan, on Thursday (12/21). The President said that the development of eco-friendly transportation was achieved through the investment of Blue Bird Group worth 250 billion rupiah.
The investment is absorbed for the procurement of electric-powered Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) to support urban services, electric-powered taxis, electric-powered rental cars, and public buses from Balikpapan to IKN.
President Jokowi appreciated Blue Bird Group's commitment to support green transportation initiatives in IKN to create a future of sustainable community mobilization and a cleaner and healthier environment. It is hoped that this investment can accelerate the development of an electric public transportation system in Nusantara.
