SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Fast-food chain McDonald's on Monday (2/6) reported a decline in sales in the Q4 of 2023, the first time in nearly four years.
According to the company's financial report, international sales only reached 0.7 percent in growth, falling behind by a huge margin of 5.5 percent estimation. The decline was greatest in the Middle East region, followed by Malaysia, Indonesia and France. The company's shares also fell by 4 percent.
McDonald's became one of the main targets of boycotts in support of Palestine after the company gave thousands of free meals to members of the Israeli military. In his response in January, Mcdonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski blamed the boycott on unfounded misinformation.
