US Pizza Expands in Indonesia with 30 New Outlets, Investing IDR 36.7 Billion

SEAToday.com, Kedah - US Pizza, one of Malaysia's largest pizza chains, has signed an Investment Announcement, reaffirming its commitment to investing in Indonesia. The signing ceremony took place during the "Indonesia Investment Forum 2024", organized by the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment.

"US Pizza will expand its business by allocating 10 million Malaysian Ringgit, equivalent to approximately 36.7 billion rupiah, to open around 30 new outlets in Indonesia," said Steven Phang, Director of US Pizza, in an official statement.

Prior to this, the third-largest fast food pizza chain in Malaysia, after Pizza Hut and Domino's Pizza, already has outlets in several major Indonesian cities, including North Jakarta, South Jakarta, South Tangerang, Bandung, and Surabaya.

The Indonesian Consul General in Penang, Wanton Saragih, stated that the signing of the Investment Announcement is a proof to the Indonesian Consulate General's efforts in supporting foreign investment in the country.

"We are committed to supporting the government's efforts to increase domestic investment by acting as a marketing channel, promoting Indonesia's economic potential to the business community in the working area of the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang, namely Penang, Kedah, and Perlis," said Wanton Saragih.

The Indonesia Investment Forum 2024 is a platform to promote various investment potentials and opportunities in Indonesia to Malaysian entrepreneurs. The event was attended by Malaysian business associations from Penang and Kedah, as well as stakeholders from various sectors in Indonesia, including representatives from the Ministry of Investment, the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KITB), and the Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) Singapore and the Financial Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.

The forum featured panel discussions on the potential and opportunities for investing in Indonesia in general and specifically in IKN and KITB, Central Java.

The Director of Promotion for the Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Region at BKPM, Saribua Siahaan, appreciated the proactive efforts of the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang in convincing Malaysian investors to invest in Indonesia.

"This forum is very positive as it provides opportunities for investors to explore various investment opportunities in Indonesia. We hope that we can continue to collaborate on such efforts to accelerate the realization of maximum investment from foreign investors," said Saribua Siahaan.
