SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Erick Thohir announced on Monday (11/4) that the ministry has decided to cancel the Rp14 trillion project to build Terminal 4 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng, Tangerang. Instead, the ministry will prioritize improving the existing Terminals 1, 2, and 3.

Minister Erick explained that building Terminal 4 would require significant funding. After careful consideration, a more efficient solution was identified, upgrading the existing terminals, which requires an investment of approximately 1 trillion rupiah.

This decision aligns with the government's commitment to sustainable development through the National Strategic Project (PSN) for Economic Growth. Minister Erick recognizes that improving airport facilities is crucial for boosting Indonesia's tourism sector.

In addition to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, he will also focus on upgrading I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, a key entry point for international tourists.
