GoTo, TikTok Agree IDR23 Trillion E-Commerce Strategic Partnership
GoTo and TikTok officially announced a strategic partnership in Indonesia.

SEAToday.com, Jakarta-GoTo and TikTok officially announced a strategic partnership in Indonesia on Monday (12/11), with a focus on strengthening and expanding the market for national MSMEs. The partnership will see TikTok Shop integrated into GoTo's e-commerce platform, Tokopedia. TikTok acquired 75.01 percent of Tokopedia's shares, while GoTo Group retained 24.99 percent. This collaboration allows TikTok to control PT Tokopedia. Conversely, the shopping service feature in the TikTok application will also be operated and managed by PT Tokopedia.

In addition, TikTok announced an investment of more than 1.5 billion US dollars or about 23 trillion rupiah as a long-term commitment to support Tokopedia's operations without further diluting GoTo's stake in the green e-commerce platform. This agreement is expected to expand the benefits for Indonesian users and MSME players.

Here are TikTok, Tokopedia, and GoTo Group Programs for Indonesian MSMEs:

  • Promotion of Indonesian products on Tokopedia and TikTok platforms.
  • MSME Upstreamization - Promote capacity building and competence of Indonesian MSME players through a comprehensive program that promotes skills development and access to resources from upstream (production stage) to downstream (sales).
  • Marketing support, branding, and sustainable business practices for traders.
  • Helping local companies promote their products in the international market.
  • Opening digital talent development centers in various locations in Indonesia.
  • Ensure marketplaces that allow fair competition.

This strategic partnership begins with the Beli Lokal campaign program launched on Tuesday (12/12), which coincides with National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas).
