SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Indonesian Monetary Service Authority or OJK said on Tuesday (1/9) that the number of Indonesian carbon exchange users has kept increasing since launched on September 26. OJK optimists that the number of users will keep increasing, as the Indonesian government is targeting net zero emissions in 2060.
OJK reported that until December 29, 46 users were recorded to gain the carbon exchange service permission from OJK compared to November 30 which still had 41 service users.
There are 494,254 tons equivalent to carbon dioxide of the trading volume recorded, which is worth 30.91 billion rupiahs.
Of those achievements, 30.38 percent were from the regular market, 9.83 percent from the negotiation market, and the remaining 59.79 percent were from the auction market. OJK optimists that carbon trading market performance can continue to increase due to the net zero emission target. (NUGO/HANIF)
