SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The IDX composite (IHSG) of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) is projected to strengthen on Monday, coinciding with the inauguration of the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara).

The IHSG opened higher by 9.57 points, or 0.14%, reaching 6,812.57. In contrast, the LQ45 index, representing 45 leading stocks, decreased by 0.58 points, or 0.07%, to 776.12.

"Today's IHSG is expected to move variably with an upward tendency, continuing the previous day's trend," stated the Research Team of Lotus Andalan Sekuritas, as quoted on Antara, in their analysis in Jakarta on Monday.

Domestically, President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to launch BPI Danantara at the Presidential Palace today at 10:00 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

Danantara, as Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund (SWF), is reported to manage assets exceeding 900 billion US dollars.

On the international front, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 748.63 points, or 1.69%, to 43,428.02. The S&P 500 lost 104.39 points, or 1.71%, closing at 6,013.13, while the Nasdaq Composite weakened by 438.36 points, or 2.20%, to 19,524.01.

In regional Asian markets this morning, the Nikkei index rose by 98.90 points, or 0.00%, to 38,776.94; the Shanghai index increased by 28.33 points, or 0.00%, to 3,379.11; the Kuala Lumpur index declined by 9.71 points, or 0.61%, to 1,581.32; and the Strait Times index gained 10.90 points, or 0.28%, reaching 3,940.32.

Additionally, gold prices today have risen to Rp1,705 million per gram.
