SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Pertamina (Persero) remains committed to ensuring national energy security by meeting energy needs from upstream to downstream.

During a hearing with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Pertamina Vice President Director Wiko Migantoro highlighted the company’s transformation as a key factor in its growth and success.

"Restructuring has proven effective in enhancing Pertamina Group's operational and financial performance," Wiko said, as quoted on Antara, in Jakarta on Friday.

Looking ahead to 2025, Pertamina has outlined its Dual Growth Strategy.

The strategy focuses on optimizing legacy businesses—such as upstream production, refinery flexibility, and retail operations—while expanding low-carbon initiatives, including biofuel development, geothermal capacity expansion, and downstream chemical production.

Pertamina plays a crucial role in upstream oil and gas security, managing 69% of national oil production and 37% of domestic gas production.

In 2025, the company aims to boost oil output to 416 MBOPD (up 4%) and gas production to 2,536 MMSCFD (up 3%) through enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and accelerated exploration.

In refining, Pertamina plans to increase refinery intake to 334 million barrels (up 3%), with strategic initiatives including refinery upgrades and improved crude procurement.

Meanwhile, fuel, non-fuel, and petrochemical distribution is targeted to reach 106 million KL (up 1%), supported by expanded maritime logistics.

Gas distribution is also set to rise to 958 BBTUD (up 12%), driven by household gas network expansion and increased customer demand.

Additionally, clean energy generation is expected to grow 2% to 2,602 MW, supported by geothermal operations at Lumut Balai 2 and clean electricity from the Jawa I power plant.

DPR Commission XII commended Pertamina’s strategic programs, urging the company to ensure sufficient fuel and LPG supplies, particularly during Ramadan and Eid 1446 H, while also accelerating the Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) project.
