Recycled Glasses from Coffee Grounds

Recycled Glasses from Coffee Grounds

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - While coffee grounds are usually recycled as plant compost, Reza Arganata is doing something different. Reza has come up with an innovative way to recycle coffee grounds into glasses.

He works with local coffee shops to collect coffee grounds. Once collected, the coffee grounds are dried for a week and then pressed so that they can be cut into the desired eyeglass pattern.

'Recgla' is a fashion eyewear that has been released since the beginning of 2023 and is sold for 1.4 million rupiah. These glasses were also used by several people at the G20 event in Bali. In addition to glasses, Recgla now produces coffee coasters used by one of the cafes in Bali.
