Berdasarkan laporan Atlasbig.com, Tiongkok menjadi negara produsen semangka terbesar di dunia dengan volume produksi 79,2 ton per tahun. Sementara di Asia Tenggara, Thailand menjadi negara terbanyak penghasil semangka. Disusul Indonesia, yang menempati urutan kedua di Asia Tenggara dengan volume produksi 480.897 ton per tahun.
