Indonesia's Largest LNG Project Inaugurated in West Papua

SEAToday.com, Bintuni Bay - President Joko Widodo inaugurated the National Strategic Project, Tangguh Train 3 in Bintuni Bay, West Papua on Friday (11/24). This project is a development project at the Tangguh liquefied natural gas (LNG) field, making it the largest LNG producer in Indonesia.
President Jokowi said that the plant was built with an investment of USD 4.83 billion or IDR72.45 trillion. The project can increase the national LNG production capacity to 11.4 million tons per year (MTPA). He is also pleased that the project will absorb a lot of labor, where 70 percent of the plant's operational personnel are from West Papua and Papua.
Previously, Head of the Communications, Public Information Services, and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Agus Cahyono, said that production capacity of 11.4 MTPA equals about 35 percent of national production.
